Dover Unplugged

February 9 @ 7:00 pm - 8:15 pm

Are winter heating bills leaving you cold? Come to Dover Unplugged’s “Warmth in Winter” event and warm up with some hot chocolate, winter treats, and conversations with your neighbors about new technologies that can thaw these bills.

Dover Unplugged: The Caring Series continues at St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church, 18 Springdale Avenue, Dover on February 9 at 7 pm where hot chocolate and winter treats will spur conversation with Dover-Sherborn residents about their experiences with solar panels, heat pumps, and electric vehicles. Members of the community are encouraged to bring their questions to find out from their neighbors what it is like to live with these technologies.
In addition, representatives of the Green Energy Consumers Alliance, the HeatSmart Alliance, and the MassSave energy efficiency program (invited) will be on hand to share additional knowledge, information, and resources for residents who may want to explore these options further. Massachusetts energy bills for heating and driving are always high so it is welcome to find ways to lower these costs and be more comfortable. These technologies have been much in the news in recent years but many people still have questions about them:

 How do I know if solar panels will work on my house?
 Can heat pumps really heat my home on a cold winter day?
 Is driving an electric vehicle really less expensive than a regular vehicle?
 How do I take advantage of the tax credits and other incentives that are available?
 How can I help the planet by adopting these technologies?

What questions do you have? Bring them to this event or email them in advance to [email protected]. Residents of Dover, Sherborn, and all surrounding towns are invited to attend.

About Dover Unplugged
After a pandemic hiatus, St. Dunstan’s re-launched its popular Dover Unplugged series in October 2023, with a focus on ways to help others, coining it “The Caring Series”. In addition to providing space for the community to get out from behind their screens and meet in person, The Caring Series offers ways to learn about issues we face in the world today and how our community can do something about them.
