The mission of the Art Committee is to educate, support and promote art within the church and its rich history as well as reaching out to unique and inspiring art to share.
St. Dunstan’s Art Committee was formed in 2002 with its members meeting monthly to develop and stage a variety of art exhibits throughout the year. It is our hope to celebrate, honor and share the talents of parishioners and partner organizations. Seeing through their eyes, we hope to broaden and inspire our own vision and spirituality.
Recent exhibitions include celebrating the work of parishioners Jeannie and Brian Ensor who curated a show of 25 oil landscape paintings; a photography exhibit entitled “Cuba At A Crossroads-Portraits of a Recent Visit” which featured the work of parishioner Chris Wood who spent a week in Havana photographing street scenes; and a ceramics exhibit featuring the work of founding member Fiona Stockwell.
We have been stimulated and enlightened by a photography exhibit entitled “Take a Walk In My Shoes” which showcased the works of middle school students from the Epiphany School, one of our partners in Boston. The Women’s Lunch Place has also been a favorite exhibitor at St Dunstan’s. “Windows To The Divine” featured a presentation by iconographer and artist Susan Hagner.
